Full makeup is allowed but on younger teens the makeup must be age appropriate.


Lashes are permitted.


Hair extensions are permitted.


Spray tans are permitted. Acrylic or gel nails are permitted.

Contestants will be judged on poise and projection while modeling, taking their disability into consideration. Remember “less type modeling” and more grace and eye contact with the judges will be important. This is your chance to shine, so show your personal style and inner beauty.

ATTIRE

Attire can have stones, sequins, etc. Dresses can be short or long,
but make sure they can walk easily if wearing a gown. Long dresses should barely graze the floor unless contestant is unable to walk in the dress safely, at which time the hem can be slightly raised.

Socks and shoes are a personal preference, however for beauty it is preferred that the shoes are not black.

SPORTSMANSHIP

Star Girls 4-7

Dresses must be floor length and age appropriate. If possible dresses should graze the floor, however if the contestant is unable to walk in the dress safely, a shorter hem will be accepted. Contestants will not be marked down for the length of the dress. Contestants should not hold their dress up at any time while on stage.

It is suggested that black shoes not be worn for beauty.

Light makeup only. This includes light powder, light or clear lip gloss, clear or light mascara, and light blush.


Hair pieces are strictly forbidden, including pony or hair clips with extensions.


Spray tans are strictly pro- hibited, however tan lotions, such as Jergens, is allowed.


Nails should be clipped short with clear polish only.

If there is poor sportsmanship by a parent, contestant, or family member, not only do you set a bad example, but the contestant could be relinquished of title and all prizes. This includes behavior in the dressing area, in the ballroom, back stage, inside or outside the facility.

ENHANCEMENTS

Floor length gowns only. 13-16 year olds may not have a front split. Hi-low gowns are not suggested, however if the contestant can only walk in a style that is open in the front, the “under dress” must be knee length and the gown should close when standing still. Those 17 years old and above can wear a gown of their choice. At no time should a contestant hold their dress up while on stage.

It is suggested that black shoes not be worn for beauty.

It is never suggested that a contestant do any type of “routine” modeling or other “glitz moves”. Waiving or blowing a kiss is fine. Remember they need to project their personality.


If the child is shy or needs physical help, one parent per contestant is permitted to accompany them on stage. (see dress code below)

When space is permitted, only ONE person allowed in dressing room. NO MEN! If you have a hair & makeup team they may be required to get a H&M lanyard to style in the dressing area.
